5 National Parks with two kids
Here we are again, planning and prepping for road trip with my two girls who are 9 and 4 now. My eldest Sheza is an National Park enthusiast. So we also try to encourage her, (ofcourse that’s what every parent does these days). This time we are trying to cover Atleast 5 national parks towards west coast (hopefully). The ones included are Joshua Tree, Sequoia, Kings Canyon, Yosemite, Pinnacles & Redwood National Park.. I know, I know there are 6 names instead of 5, Iam trying to get to Atleast 5 (if the girls cooperate).

The best thing which I discovered recently is that blogger is available as an app for iPhone users. Here Iam Blogging and road tripping.
It is always said that, you need good sleep to have a good day.. I did the inevitable mistake of not sleeping the previous night of travel. I was packing, rushing to finish a gallery and then when the time finally came up to my sleep, it was already 4 A.M and we had to leave the house by 5:30.
Here I was Zombie walking and making sure I wasn’t throwing up 🤣. I was regularly being checked by my eldest, who kept on asking “Mummy are you OK ??”
For which I used to simply nod my head.
It was suppose to be a easy checkin into our Frontier Flight, as we were 2 1/2 hour early at the airport. But we were disappointed that, it took us more than one hour to checkin due to a very big queue. Very disappointed with Frontier’s management.
Once we boarded the flight, everything settled. I had a good sleep and was in my right spirits to begin my vacation.
We fist landed in Ontario airport and picked up our vehicle (which will be with us for the next couple of days). Those who know us, will obviously know what would be our next step.
The next thing… we stopped at local walmart to stop for our essentials. We usually try to mitigate our supplies during air travel and try to buy it first thing we are out of airport. We brought everything needed for the girls, which included a portable car seat, water cooler, fruits, milk, bread, snacks, snacks and snacks. (Which is a must for any trip, as we hike, that will be our essentials over the trail).
Once done, we had our lavish Indian spread out lunch, which I had already packed in my luggage. Finally, we started our road trip and first stop was to Los Angeles.
We were excited to travel to Hollywood Blvd, but we thought it would be best to checkin our hotel at LA, drop off our luggage and then travel back to Hollywood Blvd.
Sashi set course to our Hotel and assured girls that we will rest for couple of hours in our room and then head out. Once we reached our destination, there wasn’t any sign of our Hotel, instead all we can see was hundreds of grad students. The girls looked gorgeous and boys were dressed dapper in their caps and robes. I wish all the grads to shine brighter than their tassels..
But that wasn’t why we were there, we were looking for our Hotel, after couple of minutes of hiatus, we realized sashi had accidentally set course to Hollywood Blvd instead of Hotel. WHAT A BUMMER ..!
Sometimes, accidents are meant to happen and accidental mishaps are best mishaps. For the next couple of hours we had the best time, learning so many new things at Griffith Observatory. Girls were excited to learn about planets, solar system and space.
We also had the best view of Hollywood Blvd from Griffith Observatory. After spending couple of hours there, we finally reached our hotel to crash on beds, only to realize that sashi forgot to book our Disney land tickets for the next day ☹️. And according to Disney land California, if you do not have purchased your tickets online and reserve your date of booking for the day you are not allowed into the Park. (I know it’s confusing, but as weird as it sounds, it is the fact). The cherry on the cake is that, they DONOT sell tickets at the counter anymore (Atleast, that’s what they say in their website). This devastated us, bcoz Sheza wanted to visit Disney Land and Disney Adventure of California. And unfortunately we had tickets to none.
We were supposed to sleep and relax and have a merry time tomorrow. Instead we were thinking of options in case the tickets at the counter are not available. The only option we thought was to drive to San Diego and visit the San Diego zoo and sea world. Anyway we thought to wakeup by 6 get ready and be at the Disney land around 8 to check for tickets, if the plan fails we will drive straight to San Diego.
Good Night for now and let’s wait and watch what’s in store for us tomorrow.
